I hadn't realised this was on the agenda, but sounds like potential for faster journey times as well as securing jobs at Bombardier.

Yes, think there is a choice though of do they electrify to Nottingham or SHeffield via Derby. I am also led to believe the Meridian units can have electric gear mounted onto the roof to make them dual powered
