I was travelling back from cleethorpes to doncaster earlier on today and just as the train departed from scunthorpe the line witch is like and avoiding line has a signal and it had loads of different lights on it. What type of signal is it?

It's a 'Toton' signal, formerly used in connection with movements over the hump (now disused and disconnected). See here for further explanation.

Technically it is at Allington Siding not Aylesford.

Actually there is no technically about it, it is at Allington Siding :p
