Couple of bugs, some overlaps in PSt Gdns were wrong and other titivations I can't remember. Also behind the scenes the way chaining works is different so it needs to be done if only to allow NESCOT to join.

Not in the immediate future, not quite sure where that stands with TRE and the IECC anyway - 1970s is more probable, though I only have detailed Plans for Waverley to Portobello.

CSCOT is unchanged - Cowlairs is a separate single box Sim which will be chain-able with Greenhill (which I may do one day).

I really do hope that the member who started this thread has not been deterred. I can assure them we are really, a happy band, thankful for all the work put in by some, it is just that different members react in different ways to that age old question of ‘when will it be ready’.

Can I make a suggestion and it is only a suggestion, open for comment from others. When I went into the shop last night to make a donation I did notice the wording ‘People who donate £10 or more, or who have donated £10 or more in the past, may be offered exclusive previews or other exciting things that non-donors will be ineligible for, so make a donation now!’
This is not a true statement is it. However it could be used to our advantage with this problem. If people who did make a donation were given sneak previews of sims like Carlisle ( and I only use Carlisle as an example, it could also be others) , all be it with some small problems existing in it, then we achieve two things. One, it might just keep some people happy knowing that they have got something that works with small glitches (and this should be pointed out to them) which is still being worked on but will be released sometime in the future when finally finished and two that they, by making the donation, are helping with the cost of things like site visits etc. obtaining timetables etc. and probably helping to move the release date forward. Those who do not make a donation will obviously have to wait until the final release which could be well into the future as we all know. More encouragement to make a donation because of that and help the sim release along a bit.
Yes I know that there are bugs that need to be resolved, however, if as in this case it would appear that it is now working with the default timetable but it was a further different timetable that has found more problems, then people making a donation would at least have something that can be seen to be working for their money. The juicy add ons would come later with the full version

As I say it is open to comment and ridicule by other forum members but that is the good thing about SIM Sig and the forum pages. A real good simulation with people all trying to make it better.

Sounds good to me.

I had no idea this was the case. Is this a new incentive?

Personally, I would be more than happy to shower devs with my hard-earned cash in return for a beta release.

Sadly John, I don’t think it is a new incentive. Seem to remember seeing it quite a while ago when there were previous problems with the shop pages when I was trying to make a donation and probably even before that. Geoff or one of the admin guys might know and they are probably in a better position to answer that one.
I can see why Geoff or the admin guys might have put it in there though and it does say in its defence, that it does say maybe. As is also said on the shop pages without the donations, even the web site might not be paid for let alone new Sim development without them.
I would love to know, if it is the ones who do the most shouting about the Sims not being released that are the ones who do not make a donation, all be it just now and again. Every little helps and let’s face it, those who are responsible for the Sims and the hours of enjoyment they give to us, deserve it in my opinion even if they don’t want it.
If nothing can be done for a sneak peek look as I tried to suggest in my previous post, then I reluctantly think, even if it is not my right, that it is only those that turn up at a meet that are going to get one. Unfortunately, not everyone can make them. It’s a long way from where I currently reside so like the rest I will just have to wait and get it ‘When its ready’
