A lot of bugs and problems get reported through the Forum and there is usually a response from someone else who has had the problem and can provide a way forward (or point to where the resolution has already been posted or written up in the Wiki). Developers and TT writers also follow up to make sure that any real bugs are corrected for the next release. It would be really helpful to the developers and TT writers if anyone reporting a bug could update the Forum if the reality is that the bug was down to operator error or circumstances which show that it is not a bug in the sim or the TT. For example, I have recently spent about 6 hours working through a bug reported in the Carlisle 1979-1980 TT (which includes the time spent going back to get at source data, testing and re-testing as various parameters are changed and writing up posts for the Forum to try and establish more information from the original reporter). I was unable to find any evidence of the bug as reported and have no idea from the responses posted whether I have been on a wild goose chase or whether there is a real bug which still exists. Could those who report problems through the Forum please take pity on the developers and TT writers and add follow-up information in response to replies on the Forum so that hours of valuable time are not spent unnecessarily in following up these reports which could be better spent on new sims and TTs. “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Last edited: 12/12/2012 at 19:23 by postal Log in to reply The following users said thank you: jc92, Hooverman, broodje |
