Got to love the news agencies: The Daily Mail (who else?) claims that the fire was in the train’s ‘engine’, and they describe it as a ‘blaze’… http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2263765/Gatwick-Express-Victoria-station-evacuated-rush-hour-train.html …and the Metro shows a picture of a completely wrong class of train (460 instead of 442)… http://metro.co.uk/2013/01/17/london-victoria-station-evacuated-due-to-fire-on-gatwick-express-train-3355502/ Am I being too picky? A small issue of a set of line switches flashing over. Used to be a regular occurance in the days of proper DC traction. Cut the 750, fire goes out, isolate the 10 point, lay your dets. Job done time for tea.  Paul You have to get a red before you can get any other colour Log in to reply |
