Hiya,

I think I may have spotted something strange occurring with the track circuits around Bog Junction and thought it best to report it. As you can see from the attached screenshot, train 6M60 was routed from London Road Junction towards Currock Junction via Bog Junction. As it passed Bog Junction, a small section of track circuit on the adjacent track showed as occupied even though no train was passing over it. This was not caused by a track circuit failure.

I have also noted an indication bug on the single line to Dumfries. This happened when I had set a route from Gretna Jn. towards Annan. This is the 1979-80 TT being played on the 1980s version of the Sim.However this appears to be some kind of transient fault as it never occurred again and in this case also,I canceled and then reset the route and it lighted as normal.Unfortunately I don't have a saved game for the time period.

The Gretna problems were reported (and presumably fixed) quite a while back.

How do you route 6M60 via Bog Jct? I've had him standing at the prior signal for half an hour since my attempts to set the route end up with "Route not available". I don't think I could even SPAD him through successfully since I can't seem to manually set a set of points through Bog Jct to let him run through. He'd end up at the dead end.

Click on Signal CE415 London Road Jn then CE417 at Currock Jn.

Hi Barry

That's exactly what I meant. Can't be done. Points seem to be locked for some reason judging by the two small white boxes one on either track adjacent.

I've quickly tried a new game in both 80s and modern mode and the path can easily be laid. Back to my game, I'm not sure what has caused the points to become locked.

Can you upload a saved game (here or into the Downloads section) in case anyone else can spot what is causing the problem)?

I would strongly suspect GF F949 (Metal Box Co), when a release of it is given it locks out that route 915-917. Whether this is correct or not Tom o'F will be able to say.

As this is not visible in 2000 era, it's probably been released by an accidental click on the (invisible) button, see the WIKI manual for Postal's list of the hidden GFs in eras.

Edit: Could be GF948 instead.

Possibly (but for Tom to confirm/deny) the 949/948 releases (for M+C/Up Through Gds)are locking points incorrectly at Fork Jn.

Here you go. I've actually now finished the game so I'm providing a snapshot from 16:15 sim time.

Yes, it's definitely the GF 949 that is causing the lockup.

Loaded the save, right clicking on the hidden GF release (it's about 6/7 character to the left of 'WALL' above Carlisle Stn) normalises the release and unlocks the points.

If you start in 1980s era, you can see where to click in the dark in modern era in the save.

Edit: Fixed 1615 save attached

Thanks Andy and Tom. That's exactly what it was.

Now that's over, I've moved onto the 79/80 TT with Kingmoor Main Lines closed

As I mentioned above, I'm now onto the 79/80 TT and what IRF experienced above has happened during my game play. The first time it occured, I had set the route down towards Dumfries (hence the green signal before the single line section), but then a train entered the sim at the other side of the single line section at Dumfries waiting for the slot. This I believe was the cause of the white line (path) appearing from right to left over the single line section as per IRF's attached image.

However, in further gameplay, this has re-occured I think twice but (unlike the first time) without a train actually entering the sim at Dumfries. That white path from right to left has seemingly applied itself as per IRF's attached image. Since I've been too busy managing the 45-odd trains in the sim, I have so far missed seeing that white path being applied over the already set path from Gretna Jct.

Hehe I'm actually enjoying it (except when the Carlisle Yard shunter gives the down slot to UD 1 or 2 because it blocks the path for Up trains. That the one thing that sh!ts me).

aurora to route a train to currock junction via bog jn, click on signal CE 415 and click on the arrow next to the text saying CE 417. That'll route the train to signal CE 417.

Hope that helps.

Hi JWS, it's all sorted. See the posts at end of first page and start of this page. It was the invisible Ground Frame which when pressed locked points at Fog Jct. But thanks for your concern and interest in providing assistance.
