When posting a new topic using Forum>New Topic from the top menu (as opposed to navigating to the relevant category and clicking the New Topic button there), the Category box defaults to Newcomers. This seems to result in lots of posts ending up in Newcomers when they'd be better filed elsewhere, probably because the poster hasn't noticed the Category box (most of us have done it at some point!) Is it possible to require a deliberate choice in this box, i.e. not have it default to a category? Good idea. I like easy settings like that.
