Side scroll bars causing a crash 05/02/2013 at 22:09 #41204

I've been through the Saltley timetable solo through to 0940 and very challenging it is, but a great Sim, well done.
I then came across a crash when using the side scroll bar to move vertically up or down (the screen doesn't show the whole depth on my laptop). I reloaded and it happened again and again, and also with the 1995 timetable. If I grab the side bar and move it, it's OK, the problem occurs when I click above or below the bar to move up or down (and its hard to break the habit!). The game completely crashes and I have to shut down and reload.
Anyone else had this problem?

I've previously had similar issues with the horizontal scroll with Edinburgh, it seems to have disappeared since the latest McSim updates. I never fathomed why it happened; as I didn't need it (I generally navigate using the scroll wheel or keyboard shortcuts) I'd move the window and hide it beneath my taskbar but this isn't really an option for you.
There's the right way, the wrong way and the railway.

This might indicate a graphics card issue. Both sims mentioned are large and one involves a laptop. I don't think we've touched the graphics side of things for quite a while now. Maybe check you have the latest drivers? What are the specs of your laptop?

Discussed before here and here. No conclusive answer on either of those threads except that restarting the computer seemed to fix the problem.

Thanks Josie and others, it seems to be fine after a full reboot.
Never come across this before Peter - and seems a bit sporadic. I am on Windows 7 (ref threads suggested) but used this laptop for Trent, Edinburgh and Kings Cross for example which are all fairly large.
Anyway, sorted for now unless it becomes a major issue.
