Surely that's one that the player should be able to do himself?

Was the delay due to the signaller using the toilet while the (old-style)train was stopped in the station?
I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.

It is quite possible Andy as Foregate Street is effectively controlled by Henwick and there isn't generally much time to get the barriers down and signals off once a train departs there towards Hereford.

How about train delayed due to passenger trapped in toilet, that then requires the toilet door to be removed.

"Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer

reminds me of a story at work...

If a driver doesn't do anything in his cab for a while (no aws cancel, no vigilance pedal press, etc), the radio system sends an alarm to the signal box. One day an alarm came in from a Victoria to Orpington train. Efforts were made to contact the driver, with no success. 5 minutes later, the driver comes on...

"Sorry mate, I had to run back to the loo. That curry I had last night... Urgh!"

No surprises that when the alarm was received from an Orpington to Victoria service a short while later that no-one panicked too much :-P

"Here we go again!"

BBC/Network RailQuote:
"Our plans to modernise the railway will see control moved to state-of-the-art regional control centres, where unfortunate incidents such as this simply wouldn't be an issue.
Does this mean that the RTCs won't have locks on the toilet doors?

Peter.

Also used as a good reason for an unexplainable train delay. But using the polite term "A Call of Nature".

I was once on a late-night London to Peterborough service when someone couldn't open the door of the disabled toilet. He ignored my call that I would get help (I think he was worried about missing his stop) and completely kicked the door open, wrecking it. (It was a 365 with the curved sliding door arrangement.)
