I could not connect to a host last night due incorrect version warning. I see from the shoutbox that apparently I have .2 and there is an unadvertised .3 available I was informed to look at home page which says that "http://www.SimSig.co.uk/348567384/nescot_v3_238_2_2.exe" is the latest - that looks like .2 to me ( no .3 mentioned in the version anywhere ) so I didn't bother. Is it actually .3 and the naming is incorrect or is it just me ( probably is just me ) but where can i get the correct version, please ? Thanks Chris. Log in to reply |

The "V3" series of the Scotland Sims are payware and require a license to be purchased in order to play the sims. The "V2" versions of the sims were released a couple of years ago or somewhere around that time and were the freeware versions. I believe thats what the 2 and 3 refer to.

chris its incorrect naming. .2 was the first payware release. .3 was the updated release which fixed a number of bugs, however, as you say the homepage references the wrong version. just follow the links as normal and check the correct version has been installed. When released the Sim naming convention I'd been using during testing meant it was higher than 0.1 when released (and different across all 4 sims). But the upload is numbered from 1 so there is a mismatch between the upload number and the sim versions therein. Sorry for any confusion but I've since changed my naming convention.
