I'm a rail user, and I'm also disabled (as a lot of you know), I'm now married to Natalie, who's registered blind. So when I read this: http://metro.co.uk/2013/04/24/abuse-of-wheelchair-users-on-trains-revealed-3666031/ my reaction is this:

The travel environment can be very stressful and very worrying, it is not helped by the fact that everyone else doesn't understand, and you are expected to manage when in reality it can be very confusing.

Sorry to say this, but some staff are absolute jobsworths, who couldn't care less, and quite often I've felt like I've been discriminated because they just didn't care I needed help. Some staff are wonderful, but it can be hit and miss. The announcements on trains and on stations are vital, and having someone at a station can be reassuring. However, more must be done to prevent anti-social behaviour on trains, and I feel all staff should receive extensive training on disabilities.

That's my tuppence worth, what's yours?
