A friend of mine is planning to catch the 08:33 from Bath to Paddington on Sunday 19th May. Looking at it, this is booked 40 (forty) minutes from Bath to Chippenham, its first stop.

The relevant WTTs aren't on the Network Rail website, so can anyone tell me why this train (and, indeed, the 09:33 and 10:33) are so slow? The 11:33 reverts to a more plausible 11 minutes.

Looks like it.

Hmm that link does not render the page I was looking at. But it does what Tom says.
