just a quick one: why is signal CA5 always off, even when no route is set?

i've got a bit further with this - It only shows a proceed aspect in this way when panel signals is checked (I always have panel signals on). quite why its doing that I dont know.

in real life, are trains running round/terminating at Carrog routed up to this dolly , on a main signal, or route through it onto the starter? seems an unusual arrangement to route a passenger train onto a shunt dolly.

Having found a copy of the diagram, I would hazard a guess that 6 reads through to 4, with disc 9 reading to disc 5.

When I get near a computer with the code for Llangollen I'll have a further look into it.

I'll defer to AndrewG on how Carrog box works when it's manned (I only ever operate it as a shunt frame in which case CA5 is off for the train I arrive on)

I don't know the arrangements at Carrog, but I'm reasonably sure that we arrived (mid-gala) from Glyn with 5 at Danger. It's a bit similar to the arrangement at Weybourne (although I've not worked it for a few years now!), where I can state with certainty that the main arm on the home signal in each direction reads to the shunt signal in the 'wrong' platform (preceded, in each case, by the dolly in rear of the single line points).

Current arrangements are interim until the extension opens to Corwen. At the present time the running line finishes at CA3 or CA5 except certain events when a special operating notice temporarily extends the running line to Bonwm.

Down Trains arriving on the Up Platform should normally find CA5 'Off'. At events the Signalman might need to restore CA5 to Danger once the train has come to a stand and this is what you might have observed.

Once the extension is open then the correct protocol will be observed in that CA6 will apply to CA4.

Thanks for that Andrew. I was never really comfortable with the arrangement at Weybourne, especially as they read through one dolly on the way to the dolly at the end of the route!

Sorry for bringing back this old topic, but I'm having trouble passing this signal when a train is trying to leave Carrog for Corwen. As can be seen in the attached screenshot, I clear both CA5 and CA4 (the section signal) but still get the message "Driver waiting at red signal CA5. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get past this? Thanks.

There appears to be a bug there, which must have been brought about by a loader change.

CG5 should be a shunt signal, which can be set as a preset form CG2 to CG4 or as a route on its own.

It is displayed as a shunt and operates correctly using a random old loader I have, but does not in the latest one. Logged on Mantis 21426.
