I've just bought a licence for Marylebone through PayPal, but when I log into the Licence Manager, none appear? Do I have to wait for an administrator to do something?

Same thing happened to me. A PM to Geoff had it sorted.

The same problem has befallen me.

If I'm honest, it's just slightly irritating that this sort of thing keeps happening. Instructions on what to actually do are thin on the ground, and I just had a right mess about trying to arrange my folder structure so Marylebone would appear in the Sim Loader.

If appears to me that the accepted wisdom is that you should either mysteriously know what you are doing, or should be made to look stupid by having to keep asking people what to do, despite having played Simsig for years without any problems before "licences" and "loaders" came along.

I paid for the licence for Marylebone via Paypal. Nothing has appeared in the Licence Manager. Should I really have to send a PM to an admin to solve the issue? Should anyone?

I am computer-literate. I can usually work things out for myself. So if I can't get this to work, then I'm sure many people will simply give up and not bother.

Apologies for the rant, but we had all of this blundering around in the dark when the paid Scottish sims came out, and here we are, blundering around in the dark again.

I'm doing my best. I'm only human. Don't forget the reason why we have licenses in the first place: history has proven that some people have no qualms about not paying for things.

Dude - B)

Worry not, it's not a personal insult. I was a bit grumpy earlier, and I sort of took it out on Simsig, as it was frustrating me at the time.

I have no issue with licences, or paying for it - I am surprised it remained free for as long it did, if I'm honest. My only gripe was with the way that I was struggling with setting it all up.

Do I need to PM you with regard to the apparent missing licence issue?

i also don't appear to have a licence... I do have to side with lazzer that the instructions with licences are a bit thin on the ground....do i get an email, or does it automatically update my licence manager? either way, I cant play marylebone at the moment.

Apologies for sending a "me too" post but ditto. Does it matter that my Paypal email is not the same as my SimSig forum email?

(I'm not normally a Luddite, but from the end-user point of view sending Geoff a cheque in the post was slower but a lot more solid-feeling!)

I issued you a license about half an hour ago - it should be waiting in License Manager now.

Done. The email (that isn't getting sent and which I'm investigating) does have some details. But part of the issue is not knowing what you don't know. I will write more words but one has to strike a balance between teaching users to suck eggs and being too brief.

It's one of the possibilities I'm looking into, yes. I've also just noticed that HikaShop, the software used to drive the shop, is only showing orders as "Created" rather than "Confirmed" so I need to find out why that's not working. That might involve HikaShop support.

I've issued your license too.

Thank you! I definitely didn't get an email, if that's any help diagnostically.

I just bought mine and it appeared in Licence Manager as soon as I assigned it to the Marylebone sim. Just press the button and see if it takes it... I didn't need an email. Haven't even checked to see if there is one!

Just to confirm, are there issues with email's that confirm payment? I still haven't recieved any form of proof that I have paid apart from the paypal confirmation. Is that all we will receive?

There were issues with the HikaShop module which have since been fixed. This would have prevented the emails too. If you've got email from PayPal then that is your payment confirmation. I receive copies of the PayPal confirmation too as well as the online statement.

Right,

Now downloaded the new files.

But according to Simsig, I don't have the right license despite all the license info being right on the Licensing programme on my Desktop?!

Oh allow it.

Does that last point indicate you resolved?

You need to download the new system files which include the Simsig loader, you then use the loader to launch the sims.

Hello

I think that the license generator is having issues again. I purchased a license for Marylebone on Saturday afternoon and it has not turned up in license manager yet.

Sorry to be a pain..

Martyn
