Does anyone have any info on the recent Ban on steam this week, causing several charters to be rerouted, or provided with diesel traction?

Yes, last Sunday the Torbay Express was a Class 47 vice Castle, and might be the same next week but it didn't effect the Weymouth Express that runs the same day as it was cancelled through low bookings anyway. others: 10th July, VSOE Victoria to Bath, now booked for a Class 67 vice Tangmere. Only 67005 at Wembley Yard at the moment, so could be that. 67028 is at Dollands Moor otherwise. Nothing at Stewarts Lane so far. 10th July, Lancaster to Carlisle 'Fellsman', unaffected, booked for an LMS 8F Stanier 11th July, Canterbury circular tour from Victoria now booked for a diesel, I'd say a Class 47 from the WCRC pool being that the empties is from Southall. 13th July, Liverpool to Scarborough booked for a diesel from Milford to Scarborough, probably a 47 or 57601. Steam hauled from Liverpool. 13th July, King's Cross to Skegness, I think it's supposed to be diesel hauled, can't quite recall if that's right or not. 14th July, Weymouth Express from Bristol cancelled outright due to GW steam ban, no diesel loco allocated probably as it'll work the Torbay Express instead. Just to confirm it was Royal Skip 67006 on the Victoria - Bath VSOE yesterday. Looks like Tangmere is actually out today with a Class 33 on the back for banking, and might be for insurance too should anything happen, though it's a bit cooler today so there's probably no worries. The Torbay Express on Sunday is looking to be steam hauled with diesel assistance subject to actual weather on the day Log in to reply |

The Skegness charter is still showing as steam hauled. I'm not aware that LNE was affected by the ban.
