The signal between Easter Balgower and Broadsstop starts the simulation on red and I cannot determine the actions to change it to green. Please assist.

Depending on whether you launched in mechanical mode or not you may need to select the Aucherarder slot for HJ8 then set the route as normal HJ8 to AR14 (the home signal) and not the Distant. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

If it is the Up line (and depending what options you selected on start up), you may need to miss the Y signal (AR15) and click from HJ8 to AR14. The mechanical signalling is quite complex so it would be best to plough through the Simulation Manual before running the sim in earnest. I assume you mean signal HJ8? (a signal no. plan is in the NEScot wiki, alternatively F3> untick 'Right click cancels route' and right click the signal to see it's number) If so, you set the route to the first sempahore signal along the line (AR14, just to the right of Auchterarder box), ignoring the Distant signal AR15 (marked with a D) Did you tick the 'Mechanical Interlocking' box when you started the simulation? If so, you will also need to click the 'HJ8' slot button, (again just to the right of Auchterarder box) before the route can be set. EDIT: Peter and Postal posted while I was typing. Quote:Thank you for your prompt replies your solutions appears to work but I will have to go away and try to understand them.Have you read the NEScot manual on the Wiki? It's the best place to start. NEScot is quite an unusual simulation, since most of the boxes in the simulation use traditional equipment (semphore signals and points controlled manually from lever frames), which is being simulated on a computer program designed for modern signalling systems. Also, the area itself is a bit of a mash-up of old and new systems, so there's quite a few unusual methods of working. Can anyone explain how from freight movements can leave Guild St on time , and by the time they get to Newtonhill they are 7 mins late. I have had this with a few trains. The big issue is timetabled passenger trains are then held up.

TaIt sounds like you didn't tick 'Show non-TC areas with TCs' when you started the game. If you want to show with TCs, you'll have to start a new game, it can't be changed mid-game. Do you mean that the track is not continuous between the boxes? If so that's by design. I've only connected boxes where there are continuous track circuits between them. Peter I identify as half man half biscuit - crumbs! Log in to reply |

In that case, could you explain a bit more clearly about what you mean by 'track with large areas blank'?

Now even though I tick the same boxes i always did track remains off. Log in to reply |
