Help!
Playing NWC and with Project x v1 TT and late running oil train 7f18 (length 360mk) which I managed to get out of DGL but had to send it further down the line to clear the points then reverse at HJ48 over to UGL. The train is too long and fouls the points if stopped at HJ10, and HJ9 does not allow the RR loco from back to front in order to go to Saltney junction. Shortened the train to allow the RR from HJ10 via Up neck then up siding and HS. Train ready to depart now. Is this a known problem or am I not quite getting something right? All great simulations by the way and this one is great having been at Prestatyn on holiday about a week ago! Odd thing was only ever saw trains leaving Wales at Prestatyn and never seen any going the other way except once at LLanPW when visiting the station with the long name!

Cheers

John Rowley

Yes, I always have to shorten these trains ( I use 260 for simplicity) and then it all works fine.

Holywell to saltney seems to be a real bottleneck: if the oils are running late it's very difficult to find a path out and not delay a passenger! (TT X, v1)

That's completely unnecessary. I just edit the timetable, setting 7F14's stopping position on HJ48 to NX and changing the reversing points of 0F14 to HJ48/HJ12 and it works too.

Holywell to Rockcliffe Hall IS a real bottleneck, it's the second longest section in the map. However, in the X TT, there is no way to run these trains on time and not delay a passenger, since their slot doesn't really exist:

They run 30mph on that stretch, which means a running time about 16 minutes (the fastest trains do it just under 7), but the departs from Holywell are eg. as follows: 11:29, 11:33 (that's 7F14), 11:40.5, 11:49, 12:04.5 ... You can clearly see fulfilling a timetable is impossible, so I just run when I deem it does the least damage.

But when running round on the up side, the train is too long, or am I missing something? (I'm away from home at the moment, so cannot check the sig. nos.)

Yes, so I make the loco run round on the main line. No big deal.
