I was earlier informed that even when running on 1:1 time the sim is not accurately running in real time and that 1 hour of real time will not equal 1 hour of sim time. I also seem to remember reading this somewhere. I don't often use multiplayer but in single player I have never noticed a significant drift (and I have always played in 1:1 time) so if this is really the case, is it confined to multiplayer or does it only affect certain sims?

The timers are certainly intended to be 1:1 but it does depend on the PC. If it's really busy, whether with SimSig or anything else, it's possible that the occasional tick is delayed slightly. It shouldn't make any difference whether it's single player or multiplayer with the exception again on a busy PC because of all the network traffic that is generated in addition to the standard simulation. Note that certain actions will pause the simulation - for example, if autosave is enabled every 10 minutes, and saving takes 5 seconds, then by the end of the real hour SimSig may be 30 seconds behind.

I'm not aware of any noticable inaccuracies, an easy way to check would be to compare the time stamps of autosaves/snapshots when run unpaused.

Multi-players might appear being very slightly less than 1:1 due to pauses when saving, TT edits, players joining pop-up boxes on the host/server etc.

I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either.
