Optional point normalisation alarms 17/08/2013 at 08:33 #48526

Hi, quick and fairly minor one.

Would it be possible to make the point normalisation alarms on sims like Brighton optional, as in, an option that can be ticked or not at the New Game screen? Just to provide less distractions while trying to learn the working.

Alternatively, as it's really fiddly trying to find the right place to click a set of points (doesn't seem to always be on the flashing part!) maybe a reconsidered approach to the alarms, such as a flashing button onscreen which can be clicked to set a particular set of points normal after a movement?

Or, a 'group normalise' button for Lovers Walk, for example and 'group normalise' buttons for other areas as appropriate, that will one-click set any alarming points back to normal but ignore those with a route set through them.

It's just a little daunting and not a little monotonous, despite the realism already discussed in the appropriate thread over in the Brighton area.

Cheers!

In relation to your question...

I'm not sure of the top of my head what notifications the Points Normalization Alarm uses, but the indication that flashes is the the sides of the point in question.

So to cancel / acknowledge the alarm, it would be the same approach as in if the signaler was 'keying' the points normal, mouse cross-hair over the point and left click.

or there is the following...

Set a route through the points that would call them normal if not able to click on the points directly.

Hope this might help?
