I believe someone on here not from the UK wanted to hear examples of the track sounds over here. So I compiled some sounds I had on my phone and collected some more on recent trips and made a soundtrack video to put on YouTube for everyone else to enjoy too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wyTb7MdytP4&feature=youtu.be Features flat wheel sounds on the Jubilee line, Eurostar bombing through Stratford over the crossover, jointed track over the West Highland Line on a MK2, jointed track tune on the Isle of Wight (one of my favorite bits in the video), Sounds from a 159 clattering over the jointed track section in the Grateley area and more. If people enjoy it, I may make a second one with more track sounds from different rolling stock. Enjoy! James. Log in to reply The following users said thank you: CTCThiago, Steamer, maxand |

This might be of interest to some: The Station, a radio program exploring the various sounds of Newcastle station. " said: A dynamic and powerful soundscape of Newcastle upon Tyne Central Station using location recordings to tell a story of twenty-four hours in the life of this station - from the spring solo of a robin at dawn on the street outside to the pounding roar of the heavy goods trains which thunder along the rails past deserted platforms in the darkness of the night. I love collecting train sounds. They can put you to sleep or wake you up. I've created long loops out of them and run them in the background while playing SimSig (not realistic, but fun). Thanks for this video and any more you find time to make.
