Well I don't know if anyone else has had this issue, but... I've installed the new loader (v4.0.14), rebooted my PC and it claim the system files are not installed. So, I've uninstalled it, rebooted, reinstalled it, rebooted again and still no dice. Older sims, however, do work. Simsig has worked on the PC in the past and I have no idea why it's not letting me. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit on this PC and any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Mike

On the front window of the loader, click on Folder Options. In Folder Options, tick all boxes and try starting a new simulation.

I guess I should have added that the loader itself isn't loading.

Well, I do no know what you have done. I have just downloaded and run the SimSigSystem.exe on Windows 7 64 bit and it all worked the way it should. It created a Simsig folder in Program Files(x86). In this folder are SimsigLicense.exe, SimSigLoader.exe, SimSigRefresher.exe and SimsigRefresherA.exe. If you look in Start/ All Programs you should find Simsig and opening Simsig you will find Simsig License Manager and Simsig Loader.

The "system files not installed message" currently only relates to the font. Somehow you don't have the font installed.

Another poster had a similar problem in September (see this thread) which was eventually solved by deleting the SimSig fonts then reloading the system files which re-installed the fonts and revived the link to them.

Well, I've got the fonts (three of them) and I've tried everything in that one post, but still no dice. I'm still getting the same error.

Can we take a step back for the sake of a somewhat simple old man. You posted in the first posting in this topic that the loader was loading but then claiming that the system files weren't installed. That seems to contradict your more recent post I have quoted. To try and get to the bottom of things, could you outline how you are trying to start the loader then what actually happens.

My apologies. I guess I should have been a bit more clear on the situation. ^^' But yes, the loader itself is failing to open up, and it's giving me the message that the system files are not present on my PC. Again, sorry for any confusion.

Can you do a search of your computer for the file SimSigLoader.exe? If you find it, what is its location? TBC!

Ok! What happens when you click on your Desktop Shortcut?

In C:/Fonts

Do you have any Simsig fonts?

My install did not add SIMSIG Regular. I wonder if this file is causing your problem? How about removing this font to a Temp folder and try the loader again?
