This turned up on my train yesterday morning, a newly refurbished 365, very smart - complete overhaul and new livery and interior layout. I believe it's to be the livery of the new Thameslink Southern and Great Northern Franchise, which starts this September.

Found this (slightly amusing) photograph.

There's a bit about the refurbishment programme here.

As a fellow commuter of "this side" of the FCC franchise, I don't know if you'll agree it's about time they spent some money (properly) refreshing the 317s. WAGN did a few (then promptly lost them to West Anglia). Then FCC gave the ones we were left with a bit of a spruce. But they, along with the 321s simply don't measure up to the way the 365s look. The 317s and 321s still have the low-down 2+2 and 3+2 seating which often falls apart when you sit down. The 321s also have a very cramped layout in the driving cars - particularly the airline-style seats next to the 1st class compartment.

The 365s have had new seat covers and re-arrangement of the carpteted areas, but overall are as good as when they were delivered. They are also pushed onto many services (in particular off-peak) which don't serve the likes of Baldock

Somewhere in the Franchise ITT documentation I read what the cascade timetable was intended to be; but I can't find it now. I can't recall what the long-term future is for the 317/321 is. I believe the 365s are staying for KX services and the 313s for the Moorgates (including a new weekend service) 365s are designed for dual voltage but I'm not aware of any plans to make them so, though some used to run 3rd Rail. Everything else should be 700s, I think some of the 377 (or whatever the derivatives are) will still run on the Southern bits but I have less interest in that. Apparently there's to be a 387 110mph train but for TL side (bit of a waste) but long-term that's destined for the GW electrification.
