In the F8 Simplifier window, if I select a location which is an entry/exit point (e.g. a Yard), I only see trains that exit at that location, never trains that originate there. Is this a design feature or an implementation oversight? Hope someone can enlighten me. Log in to reply |

Entry points are completely different to locations in the sim code. In particular, entering trains don't go through the location that exiting trains do. On a four-track line, there will be two entry points (one for each track) but only one location at each end of the line. To associate the entry point with the location would require core code changes (and for developers, the obvious approach of using ENT-LOC won't work because it already has a meaning).

Thanks for your explanation, Clive. I was hoping to be able to get a list of trains entering from such places as Yards, MPDs, etc., but I suppose these are treated in exactly the same way as 'normal' entry points by the core code. I'll just have to use the TT Editor Analyze command and edit the resulting '.txt' file. Cheers, Lyn (short for Franklyn, by the way). Log in to reply |

Franklyn Another option is to take the time of the next location that a train will time at to give a ballpark figure. Paul You have to get a red before you can get any other colour Log in to reply |

a partial exception to this is carlisle where some entry points are followed by the same location as a standard location. eg. there is an entry point for colliers lane Sdgs, but the first compulsory TT location is also Colliers lane Sdgs, hence it will show on an F8 simplifier. Unfortunately the F4 function is not available to a client in Multi-player mode, but F8 is, hence the original query. Looks like the TT Editor Analyze function is going to be the only way. Thanks to everyone who replied. Lyn Log in to reply |

You can always load up the sim you are playing in single player mode, pause it and have the F4 in the background. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Log in to reply |
