According to Modern Railways December 2013 there rebuilding this missing link
with a 2022 reopening.
From a SIMSIG point of view would this be added to the Oxted sim?

From that article and others that I've read, it would appear that reinstating the Uckfield - Lewes link is the easy bit. The problems really begin when the line reaches the bottleneck at East Croydon, and then how do you realistically address the capacity constraints at Victoria / London Bridge?

I agree and I read that as well. Then duplicate and electrify the line.

I did not read it as a certainty, they mearly propose rebuilding the link. and they have a strong case doing so.

Strong case for it here in Eastbourne.

To get from Eastbourne to Uckfield via rail means you'd have to change at East Croydon. Also the A26 at peak times can get very busy, along with the A27.

Also when things get messed up on the Brighton Mainline, the Uckfield line can serve as an alternative.

As the developer of Oxted this would depend on being given access to all the detailed data required to produce the highly accurate simulations that we produce.
