A very useful resource is http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced

I notice that a number of freight trains have a timing point of "Willesden Former Wn34 signal"

Won't link to any particular example for fear of breaching T&Cs of use of above site.

In the mid 1980s I was a TOPS clerk (on the Speedlink desk) at Willesden - a grotty Portakabin between Stonebridge Park station and the North Circular.

WN34 signal was just outside my window - an important signal that controlled coming from Up Slow at Wembley to either Willesden Brent yard or 'diving under' to access other regions via Acton Canal Wharf or Mitre Bridge (or LE's coming out of Sudbury HS).

Quick two part question:

1) What has happened to WN34 signal
2) If it has gone, why would WTTs still refer to it as a timing point? (as former WN34 sig)
