Sadly OpenTrainTimes has been shut down. The author, Peter Hicks, was spending vast amounts of his personal time and money to maintain and improve the site. What's more, though Peter should rightly be credited with getting Network Rail to share more and more data, he wasn't getting the recognition for it. Other sites (you know the ones) quite literally would not exist without Peter's work.

RIP OpenTrainTimes.

Peter, thank you for the work you've done in pioneering the way forward with the Open Data, the work you have done has paved the way for a lot of future use, and I wish you luck with future projects.

Other websites around of a similar nature simply wouldn't exist without the huge amount of effort that Peter Hicks put into his Open Train Times website and for the work he did to gain the live data feeds from Network Rail. For that, I think we can all merely express thanks and good luck for future projects.

Sad news - I used OTT a lot in it's earlier days, and although I'd generally moved on to one to the aforementioned alternatives for times, I did still use it every so often (particularly the live maps), and the work that Peter did to open up the data feeds is admirable indeed.

RIP to one of the most useful websites in existence. I think that those of us who have compiled TTs for the various SimSig sims have been thankful for the availability of a site that was easy to use and not confusing to read. OTT was certainly the best site to compile SimSig TTs on and, from those of us who have used OTT for that purpose, Peter has our thanks. I also wish Peter the very best of luck with whatever he gets up to next.

Completely agree Dave.

All the timings for all of my 2012 Southern region TT's were from using Open Train Times and found it much easier to compile from than some of the others. I would like to express my thanks to Peter Hicks for all that he has achieved and I'm sure he will have success at whatever he turns to next.

So sad but if it was costing money, like he said, then that's a lot. Is there any alternative to the headcodes in stations, I cannot find anything.

Its a real shame. I appreciated all the word he did, thanks Peter for the open train data, enjoyed the virtual trainspotting! I think over at the 'dark side' they're making progress on track maps..
