My Simsig Loader was updated from 4.0.27 to 4.0.28. Now whenever I load up a previously loaded sim, i get a warning that there may be a compatibility issue and it may not work correctly. I had an issue on Edinburgh, Motherwell and Birmingham New Street where I had trains appear out of nowhere, TRTS for trains in platforms which could be wrong side failures as the track circuits were clear!, and trains traveling along suddenly disappearing and no longer exist.

Are we going to have compatibility issues with previously saved sims each time a new Loader update is issued?

That seems a bit strange, there should be no issues like that. Could you please post on here a copy of the exact save that you used so that the developers can investigate exactly what is occurring.

. . . Edinburgh . . . .
Thought Edinburgh was a .exe rather than Loader sim. As such whatever version of the loader is on your system is immaterial.

Here's the message I now get when loading a game I saved a few days ago, using the Loader version of Exeter. I updated the loader yesterday, and now this is the message I get every time I load the saved file from BEFORE the update. Obviously, when I next save the game in this 4.0.31 build, the message will disappear, and will probably re-appear on the next update, and so on ...

That seems entirely possible. If the loader contains new, or amended features that are relevant to the data that's saved in the .ssg file then it may well not be happy: hence the warning.

It used to be the case with saved .ssg files and different .exe sim builds.

Indeed.

While we don't go around changing stuff just for fun, what's in a .ssg file is the contents of internal variables. If a bug fix or feature addition means that we need to change the meaning of one of those variables, then we'll do it. Old saved games don't even get considered.

(For example, there are places where we store the number of seconds left until an event happens. There are other places where we store the time when an event will happen. One might be changed to the other for good internal reasons.)

The message is a warning. Everything might be perfectly okay; or there may be some issues somewhere.
