Today tried a new st + aston chain which seemed to work fine. One question though - whenever I typed a message in the master sim, rather than appear in the multiplayer message box in the slave sim it appears in the regular message box. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? Log in to reply |

This is normal, it occurs if the slave sim does not have the F10 message window open. It's perfectly normal and is what used to happen with the old .exe sims before the days of loader. Hope this helps. Log in to reply |

If the F10 message window is not open on the slave, messages will appear in the old place. Did you check the box on New Street that said Aston? Log in to reply |

Might be that host to host messages are deemed to be 'General Simulation messages' rather than client to client 'chat' messages?

Just tested this again. See screeshot below I have both F10 windows open. Also it doesn't seen to matter if I have the aston box ticked on the new street F10 window I get the same result. I'm thnking the messages should appear in the F10 window but maybe not? Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Log in to reply |

No, they won't, as the F10 window is open, Try closing it on Aston!

Hmm well I'm confused (I admit it doesn't take much). I guess the problem is that if there is general chatter going in the new st message window, I then get spammed with my own messages in the Aston simulation message box. I could maybe live with them appearing in the aston F10 window (so it separates them out from the simulation messages), but no combination I've worked out (of F10 / messge recipients etc.) can get this effect. It would further make sense that if you are hosting more than one sim in a chain, then you don't get spammed with your own messages on all other sims. If "it just works like this" then that's fine, but it doesn't seem very logical. Thanks for any advice on this. I am trying to get to grips with hosting chains and the wiki is a little lacking in this area. Log in to reply |
