Hi all, i tried to write an timetable in sim era 1976-1991. The Problem is: if i make a Train down sutton with entry-point "sutton up (1970s)" the Editor won't find any way to aston or any else Location. what i'm making wrong? Thanks for help, Alex Log in to reply |

" said:Hi all,Nothing! Using entry point Sutton Up (1970s) and adding all stations to Aston will not validate. "no path found between entrance Sutton Up (1970s and Aston". That appears to be a problem with this era. Barry Barry, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Last edited: 04/04/2014 at 09:41 by BarryM Log in to reply |

Is there any progress on this? It's the only major bug on New Street I'm aware of, apart from some very early sidings Geoff has said he's hesitant to try and work in, and it's a shame that all the effort that went in to add the early eras is wasted at present!

Generally, I think the response to big issues in payware simulations is excellent, but the fact that this one remains after a year is a bit of a let-down. Well, admittedly I do struggle to remember posts from nearly a year ago, and don't recall Danny's from a couple of weeks ago either. But the bug was fixed and the sim is awaiting an imminent release. Just ironing out a couple of issues on an eagerly anticipated adjacent sim re-release... no prizes for guessing which. Sometimes we have to wait for adjacent sims for a co-ordinated release if the chaining between them alters, otherwise there'd be a period of incompatibility between the sims. Granted nearly a year is not acceptable and I apologise for that. I think the only sidings I was hesitant about were the exchange sidings because it radically alters the Proof House area (again). It's complicated enough with three eras, what with joining the right bits to the right places in the right eras, and getting the chaining to Saltley working seamlessly too. " said:Awww I have a 1983 SWB just crying for a Timetable, and a I Think Pascal does too! Quite a few bits of ECS run from New St - Curzon St. via Exchange Sdgs Shunt frame. I spose a bit of artistic licence could allow them to be repathed the long way round via Soho on the assumption Exchange Sdgs Box is closed for possession or maintenance. Could it be added (in the long term) with the condition it wont chain to Saltley (which doesn't have a 1980's/70's layout)? I understand that it affects chaining but it also sort of makes 1970's and 80's mode a bit unusable if there's an important location missing. "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

I'm now being told it might have been the late 1980s. That does affect my view somewhat then. I'll look again at what information I do have and see if I have enough. However, I won't delay the imminent release for this. SimSig Boss Log in to reply The following user said thank you: jc92 |

Ok, 1989 it would appear. I've located some signalling notices from 1966/1969 which show some detail so it ought to be enough to guesstimate what's missing with a reasonable degree of accuracy - including Saltley.

I've just gone through some of the old signalling notices I've been given covering various areas around the West Midlands. I've got 2 dated 1966 covering New Street station & the line heading north towards Wolverhampton as well as another signalling notice covering the Wolverhampton station area from the 1960s, but nothing heading towards Exchange sdgs. I'll have a word with my contact who got me those diagrams I sent you in the post to see if he might have any left over from the 1960s/1970s era. One thing that may alleviate issues like this in the furture is if the developers were to ask those of us who have collections of signalling notices whether we may have relevant notices in our collections which cater for the eras they'd like to do, but aren't able to get the relevant notices to do it. Surprisingly not many developers ask the question, now whether thats because they don't want to let the cat out of the bag that a sim is going to be produced is the reason why they don't. But some of us have alot more info at our disposal if only the question was asked in the first place. I've sent by special delivery to 2 other developers apart from yourself Geoff signalling notices for sims yet to be produced. I'll see what I can do in respect of Exchange Sdgs area.
