Hello guys,

Anyone knows anything about the ERTMS plans for the ECML, and if it will start to be installed at 2015 as per "RUS" document?

Thiago.

I'm sorry for doing this, but this link tickled my sense of humour.

It's not the finished product per see, it's just the ERTMS equipment is in place but only for research purposes for Network Rail to carry out trials on various ERTMS products and see which one will win the contract for when the ECML gets resignalled in 2018/2020 onwards.

However please note that the Up Hertford is used for Bi-Directional services at all times of the day and not just when the Down Hertford is locked out of use for testing purposes.

Hope that is of some help?

We have installed the Siemens (former Invensys) ETCS product in Auckland New Zealand, and I drive under it now. From a driver's perspective, driving with it is very different...

Before you ask, ETCS and ERTMS are one and the same...

Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait!

<Pedantic>ETCS is a major part of ERTMS</pedantic>

PTC in the US has a number of similarities but is, of course, completely incompatible. NIH, late, not completely defined, etc.

Ah, stand corrected. At least that was what we were being told at work.

Still, it is very different to drive under than without!

Hey Everyone,

Since you are talking about the ERTMS line on ECML thought you all would like to see the workstation that controls it.

I never knew they only controlled Palmers Green to Langley Junction, I was under impression that it was Alexandra Palace to Langley Junction!

Not sure if this and the previous comment are appropriate for a public forum after the concerns raised by Guts et al in this thread.
