Just found this resource: http://www.railmaponline.com/UKIEMap.php - a google maps overlay showing all lines past and present with clickable links to various historical pages. Amazing level of detail. Ah, yes, I found this quite a while back - I assume someone had already linked to it on here. Last time I looked at it, he was in the middle of filling out the stations, county-by-county - that must be a laborious process. Has he finished yet? Log in to reply |

I also stumbled across this website while carrying out my major design project this year. Not sure how up to date the information is but def worth looking at. I've linked the railways group, but it is surprising how many other groups of information it has. (I used it to identify overhead power distribution lines of the national grid)

Excellent site. God knows how long it must have taken to compile it all.....bit like a Victoria Central timetable........ It is nice to see the Beeching axed lines on here as well. Places from the North of England such as Romaldkirk, Lartington and Middleton in Teesdale. They cannot possibly have made any profit but were good to travel on especially when the driver did not shut the blinds between the cab and the front seats on the Class 101 DMU.
