Really weird signal failure! 13/06/2014 at 09:39 #61605

I was playing Marylebone, an excellent sim well worth the money, I hasten to add, when this rather interesting signal failure happened:

(Attached because Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V didn't work!)

The only issue I have is that the approaching train needs to use the crossover, but I can't cancel the route to swing the points. I assume this is something to do with the way LUL signals are (main over repeater).

Either way, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
DSW.

LUL signalling behaves very differently to Network Rail's. That white Trail you see past the blacked out signal is actually the overlap of the Red Signal in the rear, and that Red is the one you need to cancel...
Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait!

Also, where is that train trying to go? If it's to go to Platform 3 at Harrow-on-the-Hill, then that route is actually free to be set...

Actually one for the Error Log, looking at the screenshot, the icon for the blacked out signal looks wrong. Seems to have dropped the lower light (should be a double unit signal, and instead it seems to have replaced the bottom light with a Stick...)

Also, there is a minor typo in the sim (I'm not complaining I hasten to add), but the location 'Wolvercot Jn' is shown correctly on the sim's label, but is shown as 'Wolvercote Jn' in the popup messages and message box.

Anyway, rant over.

Thanks,
DSW

I had the same question a while ago, but apparently in real life they can't seem to agree on one spelling, hence in the sim one version is used on the label and the other for the timetable location.
Two million people attempt to use Birmingham's magnificent rail network every year, with just over a million of them managing to get further than Smethwick.

First you need to have a saved image rather than a cut and paste job (so you may have to use Prnt Scrn or Ctrl-C Ctrl-V and create a file in a graphics program). When you are creating your post, use the Attachments block to find the image you wish to display. Once you have a file name selected, you will then see an additional "Insert" button in the block. Click on this and the image is put into your text at the current cursor position.
