If you have any questions regarding the new North East Wales simulation, please feel free to ask them here where either myself, or one of my testing team will be able to help you.

The labels at Chirk aren't ideally spaced - it currently reads as "Chirk Tunnel Chirk", which seems a bit odd! There's plenty of room to either move one label down, or have a "Tunnel-Station" label like the UWC-Tunnel label at Whitehurst.

hows does the CNNF signaller know a train from Penyfford is complete? IIRC it used to be a telephone call from the guard, unless that's changed since the resignalling. I only ask as its possible to knock out for a train before its arrived at Wrexham General. Maybe the phonecall could be added as per dunblane on Cscot? other two minor points - theres no apparent reversing location for CN1390 or DM19, which I have identified would be required for a timetable I shall be doing at some point. other than that, great work! The two reversing points you ask about are already available using the standard locations at which the signals are located. The project X TT covers reversing at both signals.

Can anyone tell me where Dee Marsh Reception Sidings are located on the sim, if indeed they are? Great sim by the way Karl! Username TIM in multiplayer Last edited: 26/06/2014 at 22:32 by Temple Meads Log in to reply |

I'm not 100% sure myself (they're not marked thus on my Quail map), but I think either Birkenhead Sidings or Shotton Steel Works.

Dee Marsh Reception Sidings is labelled Birkenhead Sidings in the sim - if you're comparing a present day schedule for a train into Dee Marsh, then you will need to add location "Shotton Steel Works" to the end of the TT (the default 2009 TT adds 4 miunutes). Likewise for a departing train, the train will need to enter at Shotton Steel Works before it's booked departure time from Dee Marsh (the default 2009 TT has 10 minutes, with 5 minutes to run to Birkenhead Sidings, and 5 minutes to reverse). Whether or not this is actually how the train is handled on arrival at Dee Marsh I don't know. God bless, Daniel Wilson Log in to reply The following user said thank you: Temple Meads |

It is still there but is not in regular use "NIRU". Effectively, it is closed, but is retained for some reason or another which I do not know the exact reason of. Log in to reply The following user said thank you: RainbowNines |

Thanks, I wasn't sure what NIRU meant. The manual suggests if someone does call there, it might all be, er, kicking off! Additionally, the manual makes no mention of the 2414 points alarms - could someone* explain the reasons for those and the way you have to deal with them? Seems I have to click them to normalise them? Or am I making that up... Last edited: 27/06/2014 at 15:34 by RainbowNines Log in to reply |

Seems I have to click them to normalise them? Or am I making that up...The points do not return to Normal (straight ahead) automatically, so it's a reminder for you to do it after a train uses them. It's to ensure that the points aren't left so that a runaway from the sidings could end up on the main line. North Wales Coast has a crossing somewhere which is specifically to allow the coast guard access to the beach (only reason it's been retained) but I can't remember which one it is. Ponsandane Crossing in Penzance is the same. It was retained purely to allow the emergency services access to the beach in the event that one of the Isle of Scilly helicopters came to grief near Penzance Heliport. Although the heliport closed nearly two years ago and has now been replaced by a supermarket, the crossing remains. I do not know of it being actually used in years though. Log in to reply |
