Hi all, Just found this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-29273833 The train seems to have been this one which is the last Paddington - Swindon train. RTT here seems to show it went no further than the Chippenham area and Corsham is not far west of there. Yup, 1B94 was definitely the affected service, at one point the plan was to evacuate the train using boats, though in the end that didn't materialise.

Chippenham to Thingley is on a high embankment. The story says near Corsham which is between Thingley and Box Tunnel. I think somewhere around here. Probably RTT didn't register it passing Thingley.
