As previously discussed here and here, Beta simulations are no longer made available to download

This post relates to the NLL sim, but I believe is also relevant to the Oxted sim.

because beta sims are no longer available and Oxted was a beta sim!

Have you read the other threads which were linked in the first answer to your original post which explains the reasons

When I was very young, I was told that whenever you point the finger at someone your hand is pointing three fingers at yourself.

Quite simply: The developers concluded that having beta sims available publicly was a big no-no. in contrast to the sims of much higher finish that are now available, beta sims are "rough" around the edges.

As has been pointed out, this was explained to you a few posts back, if you choose to be ignorant and not read threads then that's fine, We have a motto here that says "it'll be ready.. when it's ready", so that's the answer you'll get, no matter how many times you ask... Trust me, it'll only annoy developers who spend their free time making simulations for our benefit.

I think there's a lot of unnecessary sniping here- have deleted some bits - next will be to delete the whole thing if it continues.

I just personally think it's a shame that apparently (correct me if I've understood something incorrectly) some people (at least when this incident occurred, not sure if anyone involved is still around today) seem unable to understand what something being a beta means - of course they'll be rough around the edges, I expect that, it's a beta - but I expect it'll still be fun to play. I haven't had the opportunity to play the betas so couldn't accurately comment, but given the bugs in some existing sims, I could probably name some existing sims with more significant bugs than the removed betas (not naming any names here, and I'm not trying to say that the existence of bugs makes something terrible or unusable - in most cases these bugs are justified by the age of the sim and the comparative immaturity of SimSig at the time of release), so this decision admittedly does still seem a little baffling for me!

If you are correct (and I'm not offering a view either way) then all the authors were required to do is say to Geoff, actually it was OK so package it as a full release. The ball is/was in their court over that. However, for a loader release some rebuild work will now almost certainly be required.

I've just completed a go on the NLL beta sim and there are a few very noticeable bugs in it, none of which renders the sim impossible to play. Haven't had a go on Oxted for a while but I have it lurking on the laptop so can't comment about that one.

NLL is an excellent sim and it is to be hoped the developer does iron out the bugs and release it once again.
