Hi All

Just a quick question. In the not too distant future I will be commissioning a new fixed Computer downstairs, which will likely become my primary gaming PC, as well as server for the other machines in the household. I intend to install all my Simsig Games on that machine additionally. However I also intend to keep them on this Laptop.

For ease of switching between machines it is intended not to swap licences between Payware Sims, largely as the Laptop may not always be running, and I may also want to run sessions of the simulation on both simultaneously.

The question is, I assume I will need to purchase additional licenses in order to do this?

Cheers

Andrew

Partly this depends upon if your machines will be connected to the internet every time you want to run a simulation.

If it is, then you could always leave every license de-allocated. When you wish to run a sim allocate the license and when you finish de-allocate.

If your computers are not online all the time, then a second license may be much easier.

One should be on all the time, the other won't always be. However that doesn't really get around the desired ability to run both simultaneously at times.

Guessing it's a case of getting the wallet out...

I did previously raise the question of whether it might be possible to obtain a second license at a discounted rate, largely for this very reason. Being a railway household, we occasionally run a sim on two computers simultaneously when Mrs Late Turn decides to join in the fun, but we couldn't justify the cost of a second full license for every payware sim on that basis alone. I appreciate, on the other hand, the potential for misuse, but I wondered whether anyone else had any thoughts on the matter!
