I am playing through the “A Summer Weekend in Devon 1980” timetable with, as appropriate to the timetable, Tiverton Junction enabled, rather than Tiverton Parkway. I just got a message that there was a signal lamp failure in the Tiverton Parkway area—obviously this area doesn’t exist in this era. This happened at 20:58, and I have saves from both 20:56 and 20:59 available if they would help.

Also, I can’t seem to actually find the failed signal! There is a train passing through the area, but all the signals seem to still work behind it!

Maybe the signal concerned only has one or two colours out with green still working fine?

I've reported the location issue (12132 Peter).

As for the latter, I suspect Aurora is correct. Watch carefully the passage of a few trains and you will probably find that only one lamp is out in a particular signal.

Ah, yes, I was able to find the failed signal (DM176). In my experience signals pretty much always report failures when they change aspect to a failed aspect, often as a train passes by them, but in this case perhaps the train got too far ahead and let the signal turn from blank to green before I got there to look.

Thanks for looking into the location report issue.
