Noticed a couple of issues when testing a new timetable:

ARS doesn't like the use of Reading West Junction- if included, trains from Swindon are routed as far as signal 912, at which point ARS displays "Route set to end of path". From the Didcot avoiding line, the situation is even stranger- trains are routed to 922, at which point "Route set to end of path" appears, however a route is also set for them between 904 and UM50- the route is definitely for the train, as cancelling the route will cause the train to go non-ARS, even though no route is set from 922 to 904. I've attached a saved game illustrating this.

There's also a bug with trains towards Oxford: The location sequence Didcot East Jn (Path ML, Line RL)> Didcot Parkway (RL RL) with an autoinsert at Moreton Cutting Jn (ML ML) validates, however ARS will route the train towards signal 911. The driver does not challenge this route. The following location sequence works and validates: Didcot East Jn (RL RL), autoinsert Moreton Cutting Jn (ML RL).

Looking at the data Reading West Jn and Moreton are mutually exclusive locations and Reading WJ does not seem to have all the permutations available.

Testing a 2017 timetable for Swindon A & B, I came across the same issue raised by Steamer in December 2014, which does not appear to have been resolved. For trains routed from the Down Main to the Down Relief at Didcot East Junction, ARS sets the route from 905 to 911 instead of 913. As the train approaches, ARS fires from 913 correctly but the train doesn't get there as it has been wrong-routed at the previous signal. Any chance of a fix?

Can you just confirm what sim version number you have, please?

I can see some errors in the data but not how they would give the result you have.
Can you give me a list of locations used and line/path codes at each location so I can better track down what's happening.

I have made changes to SwinDid, firstly to make it compatible with Oxford, secondly to cope with the changes you've discovered around Reading since it was remodelled. It's not ready for release yet though as the paid sims take priority for fixes.

Actually going back to Steamer's post and working through I can't see that there is a bug as he found the solution. Giving Didcot East Jn PTH=RL will correctly auto-populate all the other codes.

My test as attached.

Thank you to Geoff and Peter for the replies. I completely understand about prioritising the paid-for sims.

I am using Loader 4.6.4 and Sim version 4.3.7. I have changed the line codes as suggested but am still experiencing incorrect ARS behaviour as before. Perhaps I am doing something silly or missing something?

Saved game attached at 05:30. 1W11 and 1W12 are the trains affected, the first of which appears just before 6 so please fast forward up to that point.

Thanks again.

The PTH and LIN codes in that save are wrong and don't reflect what I said above.

The easiest and quickest way to fix is to press the "clear auto inserts", you can delete any other PTH/LIN code that remain, but that's not critical in this case. Then ensure that Didcot East Jn PTH=RL, that's all you need - press validate and the other codes should be inserted correctly and it should be right.

If you don't clear the auto insert then these codes will not change automatically if they are wrong.
