Hi all, Where I have alternative workings relating to the same train, how can I be sure that one or the other will definitely run but not the same one every time? In my new KX timetable for Sunday 01st Februay (nearly finished: 488 trains at present and likely to pass 500 by the time it is done) I have one train that seems to have two subsequent possibilities. 1A96 1847 Hull - Kings Cross, due 2147 seems to then work either: 5Y96 2131 Kings Cross - Bounds Green TMD or 5V96 2229 Kings Cross - Old Oak Common I guess the two possibilities could be done by duplicating 1A96 to give two of them with the same schedule but how could I be sure that one or the other, but not both, would definitely run? Only asking this for future reference as I don't know whether it will be 5Y96 or 5V96 that runs. Dave Log in to reply |

RTT is showing 5Y96 as cancelled. 5V96 is currently shown as running. This of course could change. The only way to be really sure is to check what happens on the day. I'm nights from Sunday so I can check and report back if you like? Log in to reply |

" said:RTT is showing 5Y96 as cancelled. Thanks for the thought John. Checked RTT and found it shows both marked (Q) which presumably means they only run if needed. I will keep eyes on RTT but confirmation is always welcome. Cheers, Dave Log in to reply |

" said:Assuming 1A96-1 forms 5Y96 and 1A96-2 forms 5V96, you'd set 1A96-1 to run 50% of the time, 1A96-2 runs 100% of the time with the rule "1A96-2 must not run if 1A96-1 runs". " said:" said:Simpler to use 1A96-1 and 1A96-2 are alternatives with no percentages set. Because of the vagaries of statistics and early/late running the "must not run" rules and 50%/100% split doesn't give an exact 50:50 split but the are alternatives rule does.Assuming 1A96-1 forms 5Y96 and 1A96-2 forms 5V96, you'd set 1A96-1 to run 50% of the time, 1A96-2 runs 100% of the time with the rule "1A96-2 must not run if 1A96-1 runs". “In life, there is always someone out there, who won’t like you, for whatever reason, don’t let the insecurities in their lives affect yours.” – Rashida Rowe Log in to reply The following users said thank you: Steamer, Finger |

Having watched events on CCF, I can confirm 1A96 formed 5Y96 and went to Bounds Green.
