Thanks. Looks like 339's BR was not original and added at some point later.

NS 339 did have an original banner that was an electro mechanical banner that was converted To a halogen in the 80's but now it has been converted to a VMS which there is a picture in the VMS Catalogue Eddy Log in to reply |

With respect, R339 is not mentioned anywhere in the control tables from the 1960s, as amended in the 70s. It's also not on the faceplate diagram of 1/12/1986 (though as the real panel has a sticker for R339 I'm not surprised it's not on the faceplate diagram - but nevertheless all the evidence points to it not existing early on). In contrast, R281 is in both the control tables and faceplate diagram of the same time frames.

Geoff, I believe that the banner existed when the PSB was commissioned if you look at the attached wiring diagram there appears to be no alteration to NS 339 circuits with NS 339R GR included this is a historic diagram not the current diagram with an original date of 1965 with alterations to Stourbridge circuits in 1984. As to why its missing from the early control tables is unknown although I have not had time to check any historic control tables yet. An interesting situation is that the overlap for NS 334 is on the Galton interlocking although NS 334 is a signal on the Soho interlocking. This time with the diagram Last edited: 11/03/2015 at 20:12 by eddy Log in to reply |
