Downloaded both Chicago Loop & Derby sims, however when i clicked the sims but they won't open, i disabled my antivirus see if that was the problem but the sims still wouldn't open, so downloaded other sims to see if it was a problem with the site or my PC but they downloaded successfully.

Which simulations did you download that worked? By 'won't open', do you mean that you can't download them, can't install them or can't play them after installing them?

By 'won't open', do you mean that you can't download them, can't install them or can't play them after installing them?The sims do download, but won't open when i click them, you get a box with run or cancel options when you open the download but nothing appears, the sims that did work are the North East Wales & Euston sims, which i already have installed but tried them again see if it maybe a problem with my browser but they worked as they should. If you have downloaded the simulation, have you then installed it by running the downloaded installation file?

If you are running NE Wales then you must be familiar with loader so I presume that's not your problem. Just to test I've now downloaded the {Chicago] Sim so I have a ChicagoLoop1_0.exe in my download folder. I double click on that and it opens the installer (maybe through various local security settings) which installs the ChicagoLoop.sim file in your Simulation folder (wherever you's set that as) and the timetable in the relevant timetable folder. You then launch the sim through the loader which given you said you have run NE Wales should be familiar to you. So which bit of that are you struggling with? Do you have User Account Control (UAC) enabled? Sometimes the popups won't appear but you may see a shield on your taskbar.

I'm struggling to open the sims from the normal downloads section on my browser, i'm not using the loader although i'm familiar with it, i always log in when i download sims.

Both of those sims are launched from the SimSig Loader. You install the file you've downloaded from the website, and then launch the Loader to start the sim. I've finally managed to open the sim into the loader & play the sim :cheer: . Worked it out by opening main computer files, looking downloads section right click send to compressed zip folder then extract the files onto the loader. Last edited: 28/03/2015 at 16:41 by Statto Log in to reply |

maybe something with which version of Windows is running. I had that problem with Chicago Loop not Derby. I used another computer to install the files then copied/ moved them to a flash drive and then to my computer and placed them in the correct folders. Log in to reply |
