From the discussion in this thread, it seems that the quoted length of 267m for Platform 1 is between the signals. However, despite this appearing in the manual, trains of this length do not fit - from a bit of testing, the maximum length that fits between the signals is about 230m. Photos seem to back up that both WN82 and WN101 are at the extreme ends of the platform, even before their replacement with LED heads.

I note that T254 (country end of P1) seems to be at least 40m long, which is definitely too long compared to the current layout, as the far end of the P6 points are only about 45m from WN82. Has WN82 moved at some date, or is there an error in the TC lengths?

Bump - did you see this one, Geoff? (I think you're the author of Wolverhampton, at least)

I only ask as you've admitted a couple of other bug reports/queries seem to have passed you by recently!

I don't recall this one either

Looking at the plans, it says a platform length of 267m but an AWS ramp 114m from the London end and 140m from the Stafford end, making 254m between the signals, plus 1.5m and 9m between the signals and block joints, making 264.5m by my maths. The platform ramp tops are 257m apart. I don't know where the remaining few metres went!

Anyway, I'll go for the recorded platform length and will check the others too.

The other platforms were okay.

Regarding T254 I see I have made a mistake. T254 is a plain piece of track, no pointwork. The centre siding joins in T261 (the same track as from platform 6). However, with a train signalled to WN82 it would be foul of access to the centre siding; in the opposite direction as long as T254 is clear then the centre siding can be accessed.
