What controls are there in a real IECC? How do these differ between the classic and scalable versions? I know there's a trackerball presumably to control a cursor, but what do all the buttons do? Log in to reply |

" said:What controls are there in a real IECC? How do these differ between the classic and scalable versions? Yellow Trackerball 3 blue buttons are for Points Normal / Centre / Reverse 2 Red buttons are left and right-handed cancel 2 Green buttons are left and right-handed set Theres also a keyboard which has all the commands the signaller needs, aswell as standard alphanumeric characters. I've not seen IECC scalable other than screengrabs so can't comment, however there do seem to be a lot more on-screen menus and so forth (classic IECC has no on-screen menus at all) Log in to reply |

IECC Scaleable is just a standard mouse and standard keyboard. The classic IECC has a special keyboard. I haven't got a picture of a modern one, however an older version is shown below. The newer ones have more keys to cope with things like SPAD Alarms, Axle Counter resets etc. FF Post has attachments. Log in to view them. Why is there a control to put points on center? Does the trackball have any generic point and click capability? Log in to reply |

" said:Why is there a control to put points on center? Centre is keyed neither N nor R, ie 'unkeyed' and restores to normal operation. " said: Does the trackball have any generic point and click capability?Current IECC have both mouse and tracker-ball options, the ball moves the sole cursor as does the mouse, and the green set/red cancel buttons are equivalent of left/right mouse button clicks. Most normal operations are required to be available via all of tracker ball, mouse and keyboard to provide redundancy, but some safety-critical items are required to use both keyboard and pointer eg Axle counter resets. The Track section is selected by cursor, but has to be confirmed by keyboard input before the reset sequence is enabled. I can only help one person a day. Today's not your day. Tomorrow doesn't look too good either. Last edited: 21/04/2015 at 18:36 by AndyG Log in to reply |
