Thanks for another cracking simulation!

Is there any chance of an 'abridged' version of the Horsham manual? Whilst the current one makes interesting reading (I'm guessing it's a copy of the Local Instructions?), it's difficult to extract the information that's actually needed to operate the simulation. In addition, a lot of the controls described aren't actually simulated. I don't mind doing it myself, but wanted to check before diving in.

Agreed. Whilst there is excellent material there, there is a shed-load of it, and it's hard to scan through and find what you are looking for. Case in point, I havn't been able to work out what the difference is between pre and post 2012 modes... I could just be stupid though (that is known to happen from time to time) :side:
Sorry guys, I am in the business of making people wait!

Only difference appears to be that sidings 1 and 2 are in use post-2012.

Shall I take it that there are no objections to me re-writing the manual? I'll keep the existing text, but on a sub-page.

Steamer,
I personally have no issue with that, however, the manual was written by AndyG so I would sugget it's run past him first. I'd hate to see all his good work go to waste

Most of that 'manual' was just a copy of the TB Panel 7 manual placed on WIKI for reference and not intended for publication in the verbose form. don't think I actually got around to writing a pukka manual

I've found some manual pages I wrote back in 2011, I'm discussing with Noel now and will let you know.

Steamer,
I've moved across from the developer area the (few) pages as originally written, and placed the original published version of the manual under 'Detailed description' for reference, which should give a better starting point.

Feel free to ask for help/assistance, I think I can remember some of what I did initially.

Thanks in advance for your contribution.

Re-write complete, and can be viewed here. As usual, feel free to edit/correct/add to.

Please could someone with greater knowledge of Three Bridges check the 'History' page for me? I've done my best based on box closure dates and photographs, but there may well be errors.

The area from Crawley to Faygate fringe was part TBASC panel 4 until it was transferred to panel 7 as part of the Horsham re-signalling.

Many thanks for this Rick, much appreciated.

In the manual it says:

Era

Pre-2012, Down Sidings North 1 and 2 are out of use. They are in-use post-2012. Ensure that you select the correct era for the selected timetable

If I could pick Hooverman's brain (or anyone else's) for a Timetable to be based in April 2012 would I need to write it in Pre or Post 2012 era?

Gareth

I suppose you could just see whether more than two trains ever need to use these sidings. Though I'm sure someone can come up with some exact date when they were commissioned!

I'm pretty sure Down Sidings North No1 & No2 didn't come into use until 2013 not 2012 and the signalling had to be commissioned as it was not commissioned with the panel as the sidings were OOU at the time of transfer from Horsham to TBASC, even though the project installed all the track circuits and signalling. The points were also clipped and padlocked OOU as well, but you still had to swing the IPS for the points whenever the SSI/Smartlock crashed as part of the panel reset procedure.

given theres no 4a and 4b at horsham, what routing logic is used for trains? I've been putting 4 car terminators at the Three bridges end only, and anything longer gets the whole platform. is that correct?

All trains go to country end on 4 unless the train coming in from the London end is a 4 car and it's going to attach to an 8 car coming from the country end. Then in that case you bring the 4 car to a stand on T843 the you can signal the 8 car into platform 4 to attach. Remember in platform 4 you can only attach 8 on to 4 but not 4 onto 8 as the interlocking will prevent it.

At the moment, even if you signal a terminating 4 car train to the far end of platform 4 it will not pass 843.

I have raised this as a bug. Mantis 0013772 refers.
