Hi All, Two slight niggles at Leamington. When TLN 22 is occupied it is possible to set a route from LN 35 to LN 37 or to LN 39 and LN 35 will clear. Also shouldn't the slot request from Coventry come earlier as trains are nearly at a stand at Kenilworth when the description appears. As I remember it Coventry asked for the slot when trains Entered the single line at Park Junction. Aubrey Log in to reply |

T22 works correctly as the signal will only clear with Points 225 Normal, which means the occupied track circuit is effectively on the other line. With it off, you cannot reverse 225 points until T22 clears. The slot from Kenilworth was (and indeed still is with WMSC) not "requested". The signalmen at either end of the line grant it based upon the occupation of the approach berth. You are correct that this used to step onto Leamington when an Up Train passed over Park Junction, but I believe this is a limitation of SimSig that Karl had to put it where it is. Log in to reply |

I worked in the signal box at Coventry as a train announcer normally Coventry would phone Leamington for freight only not for passenger services permission was granted but some trains are either put in Kenilworth loop until the other has passed the section same with liners can put help at Kenilworth until leamington gives the clear Coventry controls Kenilworth loop then leamington take over. you can look what Coventry looks like on opentraintimes and look on maps under rugby to birminghsam not much running today as all XC services terminating at Coventry due to work taking place at Leamington thanks paul Paul Log in to reply |

Im fairly sure the transmission of the TDs to Leamington was also dependent on what routes were set at Kenilworth - there was no transmission if the train was looped there. There were often phone calls between the two panels for regulation purposes, but no need to request slots unless one or other signaller missed the TD (or during a failure). Log in to reply |

yes Stephen depending on what and were trains were on the single line Coventry would loop a train into Kenilworth no slots were requested just Coventry and Leamington kept in contact what was early and or would be held at Milveton jun.

There is nothing in either interlocking to "request" a slot - it is simply that one or other signaller will grant a slot based upon the train descriptions they receive from the other. If something out of course happens then they can use the telephone but slots are only granted by physical actions on the panel, not requested. There is a distinct difference between the two concepts. " said:Hi All,I've just had a look to confirm what Stephen has already said, with 225 points normal LN22 track isn't actually part of the overlap. The sim correctly doesn't allow LN35 to clear if LN22 is occupied (and will replace it to danger if LN22 becomes occupied after clearing) "Passengers for New Lane, should be seated in the rear coach of the train " - Opinions are my own and not those of my employer Log in to reply |

Thanks for the info on the locking. The point I was trying to make on the slot was that when the sim asks for the slot at Kenilworth the train is nearly at a stand. Aubrey Log in to reply |
