Apologies if this has been addressed before, but I note that if I start the (Portsmouth)SimSig up with trains seeded, all the seeded trains show as being super late, like 925 minutes late for example. Is this is a known issue? Thank you. Log in to reply |

Which timetable are you using, and are you manually adjusting the start time when selecting the timetable? I've just tested the default timetable (midnight and 0445 starts) and all seeded trains show as 'On Time'.

Hi I am using: Portsmouth 2015 (0000) Yes, I adjust the start time to reflect the real world time. Log in to reply |

The seed trains are designed to appear at midnight (or whichever time the timetable writer has the timetable starting from) in the areas where they would be at that time. So if you start the sim at, say 08.00, and tick the seed trains box, then those same trains will appear, but will now be eight hours late!

" said:HiThat's your problem, you're starting a timetable that should be started at Midnight at 15:25. On Portsmouth, you can get away with doing this, as it doesn't hold trains captive- they all enter, go to Portsmouth and exit again. All you need to do is untick the 'Seed Trains' box when selecting the timetable- the seed trains shouldn't be there at 15:25, obviously! Note that adjusting the start time isn't recommended on other simulations. Quite a few hold trains captive, that is after entering at a depot in the morning, the spend several hours or more in the simulation, working services back and forth between two locations in the simulation. If you start the timetable after these trains enter at the depot, they'll never appear. You can also get issues where trains won't enter due to timetable rules- for instance "Train B must not appear until 60 minutes after train A leaves the area". If you start the timetable later than you're supposed to, you might start after Train A enters, therefore it will never exit and Train B will never appear. Finally, there's the problem of joins- for example, Train A might enter at 15:26 and join a train at Portsmouth that entered before then. If you start at 15:25, the latter train won't appear, and you have to abandon the join. In summary, only adjust the start time if you're happy to risk seeing less trains than would be around at that time, or if you definitely know what you're doing and why you're doing it. As I said, on Portsmouth you'll probably get away with it. "Don't stress/ relax/ let life roll off your backs./ Except for death and paying taxes/ everything in life.../ is only for now."
