Keith Junction Signal Box is located in Keith, Scotland. It controls Keith, Keith Junction, Rosarie. I would like to have an AOCR as in real life in Rosarie. AOCR's are removed from other railway lines due to Lockington accident. AOCR's are open crossings with lights and phones. The idea is each 6 minutes you will get a call from Rosarie AOCR, it may be a stuck vehicle, slow vehicle, herd of animals. AOCR's are monitored by signaller like AHB's are. They have no white lights.
Class 150/2 approaching towards Welshpool. Wrong train you got, only 158's are fitted with ERTMS.

An AOCR is just an AHB with the barriers missing. I don't see why it would be any different from any other sim with an AHB on it.

Have you ever been to Rosarie? You'd be lucky to see a crossing user once an hour! Keith would, frankly, be the most boring sim going.

NESCOT sim is coded to chain with NSCOT sim which exists in as far as it needs to at Dunkeld and Dyce. It may be developed further one day, though I'm not sure I have sufficient data at the moment.

All the confusion we'd have if we had NESCOT and NSCOT!

I don't think Keith on its own would make a great sim, too quiet. You'd have to include right up to Inverness I think.

The Aberdeen - Inverness line would be very dull. 90% single line, loads of UWCs and AHBs (and, of course, the AOCR which has the OP so excited) but a sparse passenger service and little to no freight. And within two years the real thing will be on a workstation in Inverness so it may be out of bounds for Simsig anyway.

Why would you get a call every 6 minutes? I was also under the impression that AOCLs (ABCLs and AOCL+Bs too) all had white lights?

Developers should make it 7 mins or add more trains coming from Keith so it won't be boring. And also AOCR's never had white lights. And will never. I am thinking of drawing a map how the simulation should look like. Also there is TEL crossings like Bridgend. And Bush 1. I would like to be able to play this. And make it donationware.

I wish developers could make the editor for users to make their own like this. That's probably going to be in 2017 i think. I have railway operation simulator which has the editor, going to make Keith there. I'll edit this post and insert the map for simulation when i am done.

Yeah, you're not realistically going to get regular calls from that.

But still if it is unrealistic, it will be less boring.

...or it could just not be made as a standalone simulation, but as part of a larger simulation, as Peter said...

I have a funny feeling if you wait you'll be disappointed! Surely if users could develop their own sims they'd be developers?

Much as, if Keith Jn was busy enough to be worth playing, surely it wouldn't be Keith Jn?

You are right, Inverurie should have Keith Junction. Somebody should make a map of the simulation like it is a simulation cause i am lazy to make it.

I'm genuinely interested to know why the obsession with Keith? Why not Kennethmont, or Insch, or Elgin, or Huntly, or anywhere else?

I wondered too, though Newbury was also mentioned in another thread: specifically Ufton Nervet crossing, "I want to have Ufton Nervet crossing as a challenge".

Keith Junction is on the line between Aberdeen and Inverness.Just north of Huntly. The junction is basically non existent now as the branch line it serves is privately owned so there is no longer a need to connect the private line with the national network. The private line goes towards Dufftown and used to form the GNSR link to Elgin. The main line at Keith used to be the limit of running for HR. The railway history of the NE Scotland is quite interesting as the two companies GNSR and HR were in a constant battle to extend their lines and serve various towns in that area. For example, Elgin had 2 stations and there were three ways to get there from Aberdeen. The present rail network in that area is just a faint shadow of its former days. Incidentally Keith had two stations : Keith Junction and Keith Town.

Maybe they should make Inverness panel. Includes: Dalcross AHB, Brodie AHB, Longley TEL, Wards Road CK, Rosarie AOCR and some footpath crossings near Dalcross. From Inverness to Rosarie AOCR. Working RETB system should also be made.

As is stated above, modern Inverness is off limits.

Dunkeld - Aviemore and Dyce - Nairn are unchanged for a while now, so 'new' research is possible.

The old Inverness mechanical signalling went mid 80's I think and would be a pretty extreme bit of 'old' signalling to rediscover. Far worse than Stirling Middle.

The lines north are simple enough whether creating a SimSig-RETB or even the old mechanical operation as it was virtually copy and paste all the way to Wick. Whether that is accurate enough for SimSig Q.A. standards is another matter.

The through routes standing alone (ie Inverness black boxed) would be sadly be woefully short of much to do, and old Inverness is clearly quite a challenge to create at the lower levels of detail although there are some good sources 'elsewhere' for the basics.

Do you know the area at all? Inverness doesn't supervise Wards Road (what does "CK" refer to please? It's a conventional MCB supervised by Elgin), Longley, Rosarie or Brodie. Inverness panel looks after Dalcross, Rose Street, Raigmore and Allanfearn. Could you expand on how you think the "Working RETB" should operate please?
