As we don't have a Rugby thread running yet, I thought I'd start one. Thanks to Geoff and everyone else involved with the developing, testing and release of the excellent set of Rugby SCC simulations!

I can only echo Steamer's comments , wonderful addition to a pretty busy section of the WCML. Very enjoyable sim area. Well done to all involved!

Ditto Rick's comments. Although I haven't purchased them yet, they look excellent from the screenshots and wiki. And I bet everyone is kicking themselves for not guessing Rugby would be released during the Rugby World Cup lol Very clever Gareth Log in to reply |

Sadly the boss of the house is keeping her purse strings tight, but I am working on securing finance for what looks like a superb sim of the highest quality. She was a little taken aback when I cheered last night upon logging on and seeing that this had gone live. I must confess to having groaned a little when I saw Oxted having been released thinking well thats it no more new sims for a few weeks and then BANG this lands in our laps. Congratulations to all involved in the release and also THANKS again Log in to reply |

I wasn't planning to work overtime this weekend, but the release of these fantastic looking sims has altered my weekend plans! They look terrific, with a pleasant amount of variation and featuring a part of the mainline very familiar to me from my time in the UK. Log in to reply |

I will add my thanks to Geoff and all those involved with the writing and release of these fantastic sims. Covers more of the area I end up working in once in a while (Rugeley TV - Nuneaton). Great stuff and well worth the £40 for the licences. Strikes me that we have a fantastic opportunity for a huge megachain here but I doubt we would have enough players: Birmingham NS + Aston + Coventry + Leamington + Marylebone + Wembley Mainline + Victoria Central + Victoria SE + Maidstone East + Watford Junction + West Hampstead + Rugby SCC + Saltley (although the chain from Rugby SCC to Saltley needs an update to the latter but the chain at New Street to Saltley is still there) now becomes possible but would need several hosts. I am not sure if you could also add Stafford due to the overlap with the Trent Valley panel of Rugby SCC (North) overlapping with Stafford for much of its route. Birmingham New St + Aston + Coventry + Leamington + Marylebone + Rugby SCC + Wembley Mainline + Watford Junction + Victoria Central + Victoria SE would need 35 players maximum in itself. Add to that Saltley + West Hampstead + Maidstone East to make 45 players in all. Dave Log in to reply The following user said thank you: lionel87 |

If the chaining between Rugby/New Street and Saltley was available you could include (as well as the previously mentioned sims) Gloucester, Swindon, Bristol, Westbury and Exeter which would be getting close to 70 players! Anyway, thanks to Geoff et all for making Rugby (my home town) available and I will be opening my wallet in the next couple of days to make the purchase which IMO represents extremely good value for money. Bristol doesn't chain well to Westbury anymore since Westbury got updated to loader. Gloucester has never chained to Saltley. Yes good point. Birmingham New St + Aston + Coventry + Leamington + Marylebone + Rugby SCC + Wembley Mainline + Watford Junction + Victoria Central + Victoria SE + Saltley + West Hampstead + Maidstone East would need as many as 45 players. If you included Gloucester (3 players) + Bristol (5 players) + Westbury (3 players) + Exeter (6 players) you would need a total of 62 players. You could then also throw Salisbury into that making 63 players. However we shouldn't then forget Derby (which chains to New Street), the addition of which would take it to 66 players and finally, if Eastleigh - which would chain to Salisbury - were available, that would give a total of 69 players and Eastleigh could then chain to Portsmouth which would indeed give 70 players. We could then have a chain covering much of southern England! Dave Log in to reply |

" said:Wolverhampton can be added to New Street to extend North, not sure if that can link to Shrewsbury...Not at the present time - it needs an Oxley and Madeley Junction simulation - to fill the gap. While all of the speculation as to the potential size of a mega chain is interesting - my personal view is it might be better to focus on something more practical. For example Wembley Main Line to New Street with intermediate simulations. Even this will require a fair amount of co-ordination and probably more than 1 host before you even think about enough participants. Log in to reply |

Chain Rugby North to Saltley to New St. to Wolverhampton to Stafford and you can Simulate Tamworth and Lichfield T.V. twice in the same chain with different layouts. oh and you could chain two Astons on aswell, 1 to stafford 1 to Rugby north, but only one of them to New St. "We don't stop camborne wednesdays" Log in to reply |

However, there is a discount if you buy all three at the same time- simply pick the 'Rugby SCC' Multibuy in the Shop. That's £40, each one individually costs £20. Ta folks ... like I said its not the money its having to run 3 at same time rather than one. As I said would happily pay full whack Is that the way they were developed - as three different sims, or was it built as one and then split ? I've kind of got this utopia in my head where you just have one SimSig running and just activate contiguous areas as required for the areas you wish to control. Log in to reply |

the three Rugby sims all appear to be seperatate sims now in products at £20 each but presumably a discount if all three purchased together?

So the Rugby trio would cost £51. If you've never bought a sim before, see if NEWUSER will get you a better discount, I can't remember what it gives you.
