Hi guys, I know with various software on the market you can run SimSig on iOS but what's the performence like compared to using a Windows setup? Is it slower, sluggish, bloody awful or no difference? I've got my eye on a 2010 Macbook which be a damn sight more portable then my 17" laptop and just thought I ask the SimSig community for their experience in running SimSig on Apple products. As always I appreciate the help from you guys!!! Log in to reply |

I don't think you can run SimSig on iOS (the OS that runs on either Apple mobile products or Cisco equipment). However your Macbook will probably come with OSX, this can run CrossOver which is pretty reasonable at running Windows software on OSX. Log in to reply |

I run SimSig under WINE and it works mostly-fine; there are occasional things mentioned on the forum (most notably for me, dialogs and the phone call drop-down have a tendency to appear behind other windows; there is something about the timetable windows too and I can't remember what I adjusted). It doesn't quite fill the screen, but you can resize the window. No right mouse button, but double-finger-tap will replace a signal or bring up the menu. Actually creating a launcher icon is complicated, and so I've only installed the loader and no standalone sims. But beyond that, I don't notice any trouble with performance or rendering or anything like that. On my current Motherwell run I'm having much more trouble with trains not running to schedule than anything OS-related. Log in to reply |

I run SimSig on a MacBook Pro using Crossover with no problems at all, even have a right mouse button with the trackpad, just a case a changing trackpad settings. I am using OS x El Capitan.

I run SimSig on an iMac ( El Capitan) using parallels and Windows10. SimSig runs just as well as it did on a native Windows machine, which I used prior to going over the the dark side.
