Following the recent newsletter, I have purchased some additional sims and re-downloaded some others to my new iMac 27" 4GHz machine running Bootcamp and Windows 10. Whereas the new system files (V4 loader, licence manager etc) and some sims downloaded ok and installed straightaway, a number of downloaded files were flagged by "Edge" (the new Windows 10 internet browser) as "The signature of this file is corrupt or invalid" and wouldn't allow immediate running of the installation files from the browser. Double-clicking on these files in the Downloads folder in Windows Explorer invoked the Windows Smartscreen protection feature [files from an unknown source], but installed after invoking the More Info button and allowing the .exe file to install anyway. This seems to indicate that some of the installation packages have a certificate of trusted supplier and others do not. I wonder if the installation files could be re-assembled with the appropriate trust certificate. Currently (from 31/1/2016), the following sims showed as "signature.. corrupt or invalid" for me: Aston, Edinburgh, Victoria LUL, Fenchurch St, Marylebone. JohnT379 Log in to reply |

We're slowly converting the installations over to the SimSig Updater method which should eliminate these sorts of problems. Thanks for the heads-up on which ones are a problem though. ![]() SimSig Boss Log in to reply |
